J.Honk is a Vienna-based guitarist, keyboarder, songwriter and producer.

In 1985, he and his legendary high-energy group, J.HONK & THE FUNKPLANET, created their own inimitable pop-jazz sound which, in 1987, hit the airplay-charts with their first instrumental vinyl-singles “Lovedancer” and “Space Me To The Stars”.

With Andy Bartosh he founded the studio-project H.I.P. – HONK INSTRUMENTAL PROJECT in the 90s. By 1998, three mini-albums (“Sunrider”, “Moonrider” and “Stardance”) were released - again they turned out to be popular hits on numerous radio stations.

In 1996, major publisher Warner/Chappel Austria contracted him for the ultimate classic rock album THE HONK ROCK PROJECT “ Live At The Garage”. At the same time, the track “Highway Of Fame” was featured 900 times on Blue Danube Radio. Also still on many channels’ playlists are the melodious, captivating tunes “Blue Land” and “Maybe”.

2006 he released the top-hit compilation J.HONK – “The Definitive Collection”. 2010 followed his first download album, chill-out jazzy “Cosmic Funk”.
